From the simplest, “What happened to you today?” to the latest Hollywood drama, we are all engaged by stories. Here is ours:

In 1984, a recently married couple, graduates of Ryerson University’s Radio & Television Arts program, combined their last names to create Medri Kinnon Productions Limited. Imbi Medri was the production co-ordinator at a Toronto TV station. Bill Kinnon was working as a freelance writer/director/editor in corporate television with some of Canada's blue chip corporations.

Those are facts. What they don’t communicate is the emotional rollercoaster of two entrepreneurs building a communications company. The days of no sleep. New clients and new challenges. The birth of three children in four years. A purchased century building morphing into a fabulous working environment - that included multiple edit suites and an audio studio for MKPL subsidiary, Scene by Scene®. Two recessions. Bleeding edge technology. Numerous awards. Thousands of hours of programming. Much laughter. Some pain. Great stories. Much knowledge.

What began as a company focused on corporate television – grew into a successful creative shop working with the top ad agencies, networks and producers in Canada & the US - and has become a Communications Arts virtual studio working in both building & graphic design, communications consulting, full production from webcasting to HD, teaching and writing.To that we add our understanding of the times and the way things are going.
